If you want to make sure that you have the best gun equipped when blasting away the demon hordes in Mighty Doom, you’re at the right place! Today, I am here to share a complete Mighty Doom weapons tier list to help you pick the best weapon.
With iconic weapons like the BFG 9000, Plasma Rifle and Rocket Launcher (among many others), there are plenty of options in the game, but some are definitely better than most. So, what are the best weapons in the game?
To put it short, the absolute best weapons in Mighty Doom are the Combat Shotgun, Plasma Rifle, Super Shotgun and Unmayker. You must get solid upgrades for the weapons to get the most out of them, but it’s worth focusing on them overall.
We’ll get a bit more in depth now with all the weapons in Mighty Doom and see where each of them ranks in the tier list below.
Mighty Doom Tier List: Best Weapons
Each weapon in Mighty Doom has four rarity levels: Common, Uncommon, Rare and Epic. The higher the rarity, the better the weapon (more damage dealt).
IMPORTANT: A higher rarity weapon will ALWAYS be better than lower rarity ones. So if you only have a Rare weapon but it’s from the lowest tier, you should still use that over a Tier A weapon of Common or Uncommon rarity.
So have this in mind when deciding how to upgrade your weapons: higher rarity comes first! The tier list below is for weapons of the same rarity level. So let’s see which are the best weapons in the game, divided into three tiers:
- Tier S: The absolute best weapons in the game. Focus on these and you’re going to do great!
- Tier A: Very good weapons. You can still achieve a lot using them, but they’re not as strong as the top ones. Good as alternatives though.
- Tier B: The worst weapons in the game. I don’t recommend using these, as you have better options.
Mighty Doom Best Weapons: Tier S
Combat Shotgun – Best Primary Weapon
Unlockable early in the game, it will quickly become better than the default weapon thanks to its spread shot. Add to that one of the best abilities in the game – another Spread Shot upgrade and it becomes a monster.
It requires you to get up close and personal with the enemies in order to max out the damage, but even from a distance it will do a decent job, especially when dealing with larger hordes.
Plasma Rifle – Second Best Primary Weapon
This isn’t as easy to get, but it’s equally good in my opinion, especially if you manage to get some solid abilities to it.
It deals plenty of damage and is safe to use from a distance (which is my preferred type of play). A great weapon overall and you can’t go wrong with it. Also strong against different types of enemies, so good to have around.
Super Shotgun – Best Secondary Weapon
This is by far the best secondary in the game, especially when paired up with the Combat Shotgun.
It deals plenty of damage, but the best part about it is the meat hook that gets you near an enemy. It also stops bosses from activating their supercharged attack, so great to have with you, activated and ready for combat.
Unmayker – Best Ultimate Weapon
I have to admit that I am still using the Rocket Launcher, because I got used to it and I simply can’t adapt to anything else. But the Unmayker is an amazing Ultimate that can wreak havoc against enemy hordes.
Mighty Doom Best Weapons: Tier A
Now, the weapons below are also really good and probably easier to get than the ones above (early on at least). You can still do really well with them, especially in early to mid game:
Heavy Cannon (Primary)
Your starting weapon will probably be your main companion for a long time. It isn’t a bad weapon and it gets even better with multishot and ricochet, but it will be overpowered by the others, especially later on in the game.
But don’t ignore it just because it’s the starting weapon. It’s a solid one!
Chain Gun (Primary)
I know that many people are not big fans of the Chain Gun, but if you learn how to use it properly and give it enough time to charge to its better fire rate, it will do very good.
It’s also better for those who don’t like to get close to enemies, but I don’t like the fact that in order to get the best aim is to be stationary. And in Mighty Doom, you usually want to move constantly!
Rocket Launcher (Secondary)
As I said, I am still using this as my main weapon. I like it, it deals plenty of damage, it’s good against bosses and hordes of enemies – no complaints here.
Crucible (Ultimate)
This is a really good weapon for boss fights (but pretty much useless otherwise imho). It takes a ton of time to charge, but for the huge amount of damage it does to bosses, it’s worth having around. At least better than others.
Now here is the rest of the weapons in the Tier A:
- Arc Grenade
- BFG 9000
- Gauss Cannon
- Frag Grenade
Mighty Doom Best Weapons: Tier B
I had little luck with these weapons. I think there are better options out there, so I don’t consider them worth your time. Here are the worst weapons in Mighty Doom:
- Burst Rifle
- Flame Belch
- Chainsaw
- Ice Bomb
- Acid Spit
- Ballista
Understanding weapons in Might Doom
We have the Mighty Doom tier list above, but there are still some things that you have to have in mind.
Each weapon in the game comes with various upgrades that you can choose as you play and obviously, some are better than others.
I am planning to do some full weapon builds for each of the top weapons recommended above, but until then, try to choose the ones that make the main advantages of each weapon better.
Also, don’t forget to get a secondary that complements your main weapon – having two that are strong against the same type of enemy is not the best idea, since you need to be ready to take out all types of enemies.
Conclusion
This would be all about the best weapons in Mighty Doom. Do you agree with the tier list that I have shared above, or you have a different favorite weapon that you’re making a killing with?

Burst rifle is by far the worst weapon in the game. Ive had better results from heavy cannon than combat shotgun. albeit not by much but i consider chain gun on par with combat shotgun. and ice bomb is pretty useful in my opinion, definantly during melee horde stages. the slow is super nice. “if your not using shotguns” since you use it. your not going to see the need for it.
Overall I would agree with the list here. However my favorite secondary would be the gauss cannon simply because get a couple multi shots, bounce, and magnetic acceleration and you can clear a level with one shot.
