Here is the complete walkthrough of Duck Detective: The Secret Salami that has all the answers and solves all the mysteries to help you finish the game.
Duck Detective, a cozy, story-driven adventure game is a funny, comedy-filled puzzle adventure, where you play as Eugene McQuacklin, on a mission to crack the case.
Use your sharp de-duck-tive reasoning to find hidden clues, solve puzzles, and expose the truth behind a sinister salami conspiracy. When you encounter any problems, you can follow my walkthrough below to get out of any situation.
Duck Detective: The Secret Salami Walkthrough
The first case is an introduction to how the game is played and the de-duck-tions you need to make as you look around the office looking at all the clues in sight.
The Nest Egg Deducktions: The Duck Detective spent his last money on Bread for The Duck Detective.
Answer the phone to get a new case. After you take the bus and arrive at your destination, you can read the board to find about the bus rides.
You can enter the Bear Bus station and talk to the giraffe. Get a closer look on the giraffe to find the clues you need:
- tear – sad
- keychain – k-pop fan
- nametag – Wintheimer
Check out the calendar on the left wall to find more clues: giraffe shape, smiley face, the 7th (today)
Look at the suggestion box near the calendar and find more clues: Sophie, and her birthday, stolen mug, info about Laura.
The Suspects: Giraffe – Sophie Wintheimer
The Entrance Deducktions: Sophie is feeling sad because nobody has remembered her birthday.
Go to Sophie and wish her Happy Birthday and she’ll give you the office key card. Enter the door on the left to move forward with the case.
Go to the stairs on the left and look at all the clues around and the notes on the floor to find all the clues. Look at the gym bag to find more clues:
- receipt – west currency
- salami – high quality
- spotless – good condition
The board on the wall has more clues for you to find all the stations:
- Brezel
- Salsiccia
- Escargot
- Hollandaise
Talk to the crocodile and investigate him to find out more:
- Custom mug
- Lame shoes
- Bad eyesight
Ask him if he knows who hired you and sign his book. Next go to the desks in the middle of the room, talk to the cat there and investigate her:
- Bad habits – energy drink
- Insomniac – sleepy eyes
- Dedicated – headset
She doesn’t know who hired you either, but thinks Sophie is great. Investigate the other desk and find more clues:
- Whitlock – last name
- Accessible – password
- Posing – profile picture
Go over the stairs in the back and check the board for more clues:
- Lazy – layout
- Rufus – first name
- Sederis – last name
- Freddy – first name
Go through the door here and talk to the bear. After a closer inspection you’ll find more about him:
- Branch Manager – tie
- Stern – angry
- Family man – stain
Look at his desk and then check out the painting on his wall:
- High quality – framed
- Secret compartment – frame
- Twins – kids
The Suspects:
- Alligator – Freddie Frederson
- Cat – Laura Angst
- Bear – Manfred Ernst
The Suspects Deducktions: Sophie the giraffe works as a receptionist. The bear is Manfred and he is the Branch Manager. Laura the cat works in customer service. The crocodile called Freddie works in the operating office.
Now go to the kitchen to find more clues on the board on the wall:
- Party – Halloween
- Budget cuts
- Hungry – angry note
Talk to the sheep and investigate her to find out more, then ask her about Sophie, Laura, and who hired you.
- Motherly – whisk
- Divorced – tan line on finger
- Well groomed – hair
The Suspects: Sheep – Margaret Whitlock
Look in the fridge:
- Sharp claws – note
- Salami bandit – note
- Margaret – lunch
Talk to the penguin next and investigate him, then ask him about who hired you, the bear, the sheep, and the crocodile:
- Sci-fi fan – sticker on toolbox
- Practical person – shoes
- Janitor – toolbox
Get out and enter the door by the copy-machine, it will lead outside. Talk to the buffalo and investigate him, then ask him about Sophie, Freddie, and who hired you:
- Boris – name embroidery
- Bad manners – hands in pockets
- Handsome – nose
The Suspects:
- Penguin – Rufus Sederis
- Buffalo – Boris Petrovic
More Suspects Deducktions: Margaret the sheep works in customer service. The penguin is Rufus and works as the janitor. Boris the buffalo is a bus driver.
Check out the bus and take the bag left there. Go back inside and figure out who hired you.
The Client Deducktions: Laura hired the Duck Detective because her lunch was stolen by a co-worker known as The Salami Bandit.
Go and confront Laura about hiring you and not telling you. Time to find more clues as she’s busy with clients.
The Kitchen Deducktions: Margaret is planning a surprise birthday party for Sophie.
The Culprit Deducktions: Freddy is being framed by The Salami Bandit, because Freddy picked up the wrong bag.
Comfort Sophie and check out the gifts she received, investigate further to find more clues on who stole her present.

One of the notes has more clues on it, investigate it and then keep the letter:
- Salami bandit – salami
- Cocky attitude – signature
- Weird message
Talk to Laura, the cat, then go outside to talk to the penguin, then go talk to Freddy. Tell him about the bag he took by mistake. Check out the first desk that belongs to Laura and look at the folder, the investigate her computer:
- Friends – Sophie
- Mystery author – pen name
- Complainer – message
Go back into the bear’s office to tell him you’re going to find enough evidence to see who the culprit is. Go outside and through the door behind the penguin. Look at the board next to the buffalo and investigate:
- Import – title
- Scary – gun sign
- Brezel – bottom writing
Now talk to Boris and tell him Sophie didn’t ask about him. Now go inside to the sheep’s desk and to her computer. Read the Adult novel to find clues on the password she used: purple eyed alien. Investigate her computer for clues:
- Planned trip
- Accomplice
- Lovers?
The Present Deducktions: Sophie received the following presents from her colleagues:
Laura gave a plushie.
Rufus gave a book.
Boris gave a necklace.
Nothing got stolen.
The Message Deducktions: Sophie received a silly letter that contained a scary message.
The Business Deducktions: Salamis are being illegally imported from Salsiccia.
You’ll try to tell all the employees your deducktions but only Freddie will be left in the end. Look at the phone on the table and investigate:
- Band – name of chat
- Fight? – angry messages
- Nonsensical – message
Exit the kitchen and go talk to the penguin and then enter the office behind him to find more clues behind the painting you searched earlier here. Move the painting to find a safe and write the code in to open it: 214. Inside you’ll find more evidence:
- Enemy
- Different handwriting – notes
- Server room key?
- Fear of snitching – message
Take the key and go to Freddie’s desk. Investigate his computer to find more answers:
- Murder – novel
- Kidnapping – novel
- Stalking – social media account
Go out to the busses and talk to the bear to find more clues. Go inside again and through the door into the reception area. Talk to Boris and Laura to find where Sophie is and look at the note she left to find clues and then keep it:
- Dramatic
- Sudden news
- Letter author
Talk to Laura about Sophie’s note, the to Boris about it. Check out the phone on the ground next to Laura. It has a last number dialed on it: 03051777. Check out Sophie’s desk to find out more clues:
- No communications
- High expectations
- Fight
Go through the door on the right that says to stay out. Look at yourself in the mirror above the sink and get the clues:
- Anxious
- Shame
- Poor
Look at the computer to find more answers:
- CCTV
- Voucher
- Computer illiterate
Get out and talk to the penguin. Go inside and talk to the sheep about Sophie’s note.
The Receptionist Deducktions: Sophie got kidnapped because Sophie wanted to snitch.
The More Business Deducktions: Rufus blackmailed Manfred, to make him stay quiet about Rufus illegally selling vouchers. Margaret is the one that provides the vouchers to Rufus.
The Kidnapping Deducktions: Sophie is at BearBus‘s office, in a bus.
The Salami Bandit Deducktions: Manfred is the Salami Bandit, because The Salami’s Bandit‘s and his handwriting are identical.
The Dirty Work Deducktions: Boris is the Salami Bandit’s accomplice, because the Salami Bandit needed someone who could easily carry out the importing of the salamis.
The Infatuation Deducktions: Sophie is the Salami Bandit’s accomplice, because she used to date Boris and the Salami Bandit needed someone who could convince Boris into helping.
You’ll save Sophie and tell everybody the story of what really happened and that Manfred and Sophie should both get arrested, and Boris should be free because he didn’t know what was going on.
